About us

The Belgrade Psychoanalytic Society (BPS) has been a component member of the International Psychoanalytic Association (IPA) since 2007. It was established on the foundations of the psychoanalytic tradition in our region laid over a century ago.

The association (hereafter referred to as the Belgrade Psychoanalytic Society) adheres to the standards of professionalism, ethics and education in accordance with the fundamental principles and criteria of the International Psychoanalytic Association.   

The Belgrade Psychoanalytic Society is a voluntary, non-governmental and non-profit association of citizens, dedicated to the promotion and advancement of theory, practice, education and research in psychoanalysis, founded on the principles established by Sigmund Freud. 

The mission of the Belgrade Psychoanalytic Society is the dissemination of psychoanalytic thought and practice throughout the Republic of Serbia. Our professional activities include training new candidates for psychoanalysts, conducting psychoanalysis as a form of therapy, supporting the scientific progress of psychoanalytic ideas and fostering integration with other related disciplines.  

Certain activities of the Belgrade Psychoanalytic Society, including public lectures and workshops, are accessible to the wider professional community and all interested parties.
